Careers

Astley Cooper School provides students with the skills, knowledge and guidance that they need to make informed decisions at key points in their schooling, so preparing them for the next step in their life's journey. 

Our aims are:

1. To provide a comprehensive career related curriculum to expose them to a wide range of careers and the world of work from Year 7.

2. To develop skills valuable to employers in our pupils so that they are above the competition.

3.  Engagement with a wide range of companies and educational establishments from Year 7 so that our pupils can visualise the next steps possible.

4. To offer each pupil personal guidance in career choices.

5. Work encounter provision - available to students in Years 8, 10 and 12.

6. To promote the use of resources available on the Unifrog platform, including monitoring of career enrichment and engagement.

7. Engaging alumni to inspire students in their career choices and pathways.

This programme at Astley Cooper School is progressive so that, each year, students build on and develop the knowledge and skills that have been previously acquired.
